RoadTown Enterprises

OUR STORY

Los Angeles-based RoadTown Enterprises leverages over 40 years of experience in the entertainment industry, focusing on facility design, construction management, operations, sales, marketing, and consulting. Our expertise extends to due diligence and financial analysis for studio construction and operations, serving both private and institutional investors.

Before establishing RoadTown in 1988, founder & CEO Nick Smerigan made significant contributions to several renowned music recording studios in Los Angeles.

He spearheaded the construction of the first surround-sound studio at the Record Plant, served as general manager of the Village Recorder, and designed A&M Studios, where he worked with some of music’s most iconic performers. Additionally, Smerigan managed the Complex Studios and facilitated the design, management, and construction of Stage M, Paramount Pictures' premier film scoring stage.

RoadTown's foray into film and TV production commenced with the design and construction of two 11,000-square-foot sound stages and a significant office tower renovation at 10950 Studios in Culver City, California, catering to the NFL Channel.

Followed by the acquisition of The Lot (formerly Warner Hollywood Studios) in West Hollywood, a prestigious $65 million facility, in partnership with Skye Partners Inc.

Expanding its presence, RoadTown led the development of Albuquerque Studios, a monumental $91 million, 420,000-square-foot complex with eight state-of-the-art sound stages, two mill buildings, and extensive production offices.

After RoadTown guided its management and marketing for five years, Netflix acquired Albuquerque Studios.

RoadTown also spearheaded the launch of Media Toaster, a cutting-edge post-production facility in Burbank, California. Additionally, the company played a key role in designing and managing the construction of Stage M, Paramount Pictures' premier film scoring stage.
